History
The Pakistan Geotechnical Engineering Society (PGES) was established in 1973 by a group of passionate geotechnical engineers and geologists from various public and private sector organizations in Pakistan. Over the years, PGES has made significant contributions to the field of geotechnical engineering by organizing national and international conferences, technical lectures, and site visits. Our affiliation with the International Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) and representation in the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) highlight our commitment to global standards and practices. Celebrating our Golden Jubilee, PGES continues to be a pivotal platform for advancing geotechnical engineering knowledge and practice in Pakistan.

Welcome to the Pakistan Geotechnical Engineering Society (PGES). As we celebrate our Golden Jubilee, I am proud of our journey since 1973. From a small group of professionals, we have grown into a vibrant community of over 200 members, committed to advancing geotechnical engineering in Pakistan.
Our numerous national and international conferences, technical lectures, and collaborations with global organizations like ISSMGE and ICOLD have enriched our knowledge and positioned Pakistan prominently in the geotechnical field.
Our mission is to disseminate knowledge, foster academia-industry cooperation, and raise education and practice standards. We support our members' professional growth and encourage participation in key conferences.
Our contributions to major projects like Bhasha, Mohmand, and Dasu hydropower projects and recent flood rehabilitation efforts highlight our engineers' exceptional skills and dedication.
As we look to the future, I invite all members and stakeholders to join us in our efforts to innovate, collaborate, and excel in geotechnical engineering.
Thank you for your continued support.
